HEDIS^® medical record review coming for Washington Medicaid members

The 2010 Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) medical record reviews will begin in March and continue through May. Asuris will continue to use Outcomes Health Information Solutions, LLC, to contact offices and collect data using a Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)-compliant process.

If the needed information cannot be identified through claims data, the following options may be used:

• Select patient records may be requested to be reviewed on site
• A request for records may be made by fax or mail

It is a contract requirement for Asuris physicians, other health care professionals and facilities to participate in this important quality assurance and improvement activity. Your cooperation during this brief data collection period is appreciated.
