New Saturation Biopsy for Diagnosis and Staging of Prostate Cancer policy

A new medical policy, Saturation Biopsy for Diagnosis and Staging of Prostate Cancer (Surgery #170), effective November 1, will deny the following Current Procedural Terminology (CPT^® ) and Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) codes as investigational:

• HCPCS G0416 - G0419 Surgical pathology, gross and microscopic examination for prostate needle saturation biopsy sampling
• CPT 55706 Biopsies, prostate, needle, transperineal, stereotactic template guided saturation sampling, including imaging guidance
