Designations added to our Provider Search tool


This fall, the Provider Search tool on myAsuris.com will display physician, hospital, and other provider recognitions and designations from nationally recognized third parties. Recognitions and designations are already publicly available and include:

  • Accreditations
  • Professional recognitions
  • Affiliations with specialty boards and/or societies

Members will be able to view the designation entity icon and its description.

The purpose of displaying third-party designations is to give our members additional information they may find useful in choosing a provider. Third-party publicly available quality data is information that can be considered along with cost and member reviews, enabling members to make more informed decisions.

The Provider Search tool will present designations from the following publicly available third party entities:

  • American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM)
  • American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM)
  • American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS)
  • American Board of Surgeons (ABS)
  • American Society of Clinical Oncologists (ASCO)
  • American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS)
  • Blue Distinction Centers for Specialty Care®
  • Bridges to Excellence (BTE)
  • National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA)
  • Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS)

Additional third-party designations may be added in the future.

Physicians, dentists and other health care professionals can augment their designations by accessing their Enhanced Provider Profile (EPP). EPP is a free, Web-based tool that offers valuable information about your practice to prospective and current patients. Login or register for access to our Provider Center for more information. By the end of this year, hospitals will also be able to input any additional designations or recognitions not listed above.

Asuris is diligent in the pursuit of offering tools that balance cost information with third-party quality designations. This resource will provide members with easy-to-understand, graphical information to assist them in having more informed health care conversations with their providers.
