Potential adverse interactions between Plavix® and proton pump inhibitors
Adverse interactions have been identified when Plavix is taken in combination with proton pump inhibitors (PPIs). Because of the over the counter availability of Prevacid® and omeprazole, patients taking Plavix may not be aware of these possible drug-to-drug interactions.
Please talk to your patients who are taking Plavix about these potential adverse interactions. We have also sent information to our members who are taking Plavix.
