Alternative quote process for Community-rated (2 to 50) prospective or renewal proposals
Our new EmbarkSM and VantageSM products allow for many combinations of product features—in fact, there are more than 550 possible. To keep the number of options to a manageable size in our proposals, we developed a set of options we're calling "Most Popular." This selection gives a full range of product options, from high to low, and includes products that would be similar to our most popular products today.
You may wish to use the Product Comparison tool located in the secured Agent Center to approximate plans that would fit a client's needs prior to running options.
Starting this month, a group's quote or renewal focuses on the New for 2007 alternatives. Prior to this month, a group's quote or renewal didn't have any of the new products showing. By following this process, you can update a quote to show new and old products.
We strongly suggest that new and renewing groups that are selecting Embark or Vantage get the GMA to us on or before the 15th of the month.
As mentioned previously, all renewals released now and in the future will include the Most Popular options as alternatives. If your client needs to see one of the old product options, they are currently still available by request.

If you are an Agent Center user and would like to see additional benefit options for a Community-rated (2 to 50) proposal or renewal, follow the steps below.
Creating Benefit Alternatives
Step 1. Copy Quote
Once a quote or renewal is in Agent Center, you can make a copy of it for quoting additional benefit options. The copy quote function is available on both prospective and renewal group proposals. Once the quote is copied, go to work on the new quote and adjust the benefit options you want rated.
Step 2. Select Products to Be Rated
Medical
You now have the ability to use quick buttons to select Most Popular New for 2007 Product Options or All Options for Still Available Product Lines. If you want to be more selective, there are a few ways to have benefit rate options return.
Quick Selection
To quickly update the initial quote to show both New for 2007 and Still Available products there are quick selection buttons in the top half of the product selection page.When you click these radio buttons, rates will be returned for one or both of the listed product suites in a single quote.
Embark and Vantage - Range of Options
With these products you could have a general sense of the product feature levels that your client is interested in. For each product feature you can select one or two options for rating. The system will return every combination that uses the options you selected. This is extremely helpful when a client is considering incremental changes in a couple of areas, such as copay or deductible.
With this method of product selection you can also request any of the Still Available products in the same quote. In the lower half of the product selection screen, pick any of the product lines to indicate which benefits you would like quoted. For any other benefit besides Embark or Vantage, there are quick options to "Select All".
Dental
You can select all of the checkboxes by clicking on Select All or clear all of the checkboxes by clicking on Clear All on the Detailed Product Selection page. You now have the option to rate only the products you want to see.
After you have selected the benefits and returned to the Product Selection summary screen, Agent Center will display a checkmark next to the product links where the products were added.
Step 3. Review and Submit
When all your product selections have been made, proceed to the Review and Submit page to submit your quote to rate. Generally, rates are returned within seconds.
