Coverage of self-administered anti-cancer medication changes on Jan. 1, 2012
With the passage of House Bill 1517, the Washington legislature mandated that plans that provide coverage for cancer chemotherapy treatment provide coverage for prescribed, self-administered anti-cancer medication on a basis that's at least comparable to cancer chemotherapy medications administered by a health care provider or facility, as defined by Washington State law.
We're modifying our fully insured group and Individual products to comply with this legislation. (Self-insured groups don't have to comply.) We'll update you as soon as more information becomes available.
