January — August 2011 renewing groups of 1 to 50 offered census review
In September, we let you know about actions taken to ensure quoting accuracy based on the 90-day census requirement of SB 6538. At that time, we reviewed groups of 1 to 50 that renewed September — October 2011 to see if any would have had a lower rate if the census had been pulled on the 90th day. We ended up reissuing lower rates for two groups.
Beginning this week, we are mailing letters to groups that renewed January — August 2011 to notify them of the requirements of SB 6538 and offer a review of their group's census. The letters include a Census Review Request form that groups should complete if they believe their renewal rate would be different due to a census date issue. The form must be returned via fax or email by Nov. 28, 2011.
If our review results in a census change that results in lower rates, we'll issue a new renewal quote. We won't issue a new renewal quote if such a change results in a higher quote.
