Updates to Individual Under 19 OEP applicant communications
In March we notified you of the first Individual Under 19 Open Enrollment Period (OEP) for 2011. That first open enrollment period ended on April 30. The next OEP will run from Sept. 15, 2011, through Oct. 31, 2011.
During an Under 19 OEP, applicants under age 19 don't have to complete the Standard Health Questionnaire (SHQ). However, we encourage OEP applicants to voluntarily submit a SHQ with their application because information provided in the SHQ helps us identify members who could benefit from our health-related programs. It's always our goal to match members with programs and resources designed to improve health outcomes. These programs are built into our Individual plans at no additional cost to the member.
To that end, we're sending updated letters to Individuals under 19 as they apply during Open Enrollment Periods.
