Free & Clear® Quit For Life® is now Alere Wellbeing Quit For Life®
Free & Clear, Asuris's vendor partner in offering the Quit For Life tobacco cessation program is now known as Alere Wellbeing. Alere purchased Free & Clear in 2009. After about a year as a wholly owned subsidiary of Alere, Free & Clear transitioned to a new brand identity and reintroduced itself to the market as Alere Wellbeing.
The Quit For Life program, which has been available for purchase to Asuris customers since 2007, remains the same as far as program features, quality, service and outcomes. Asuris's agreement with Free & Clear is still in effect, so marketing materials showing the old name may still be used.
Quit For Life employs web- and phone-based coaching to encourage and empower people to modify unhealthy choices that put them at risk for chronic disease. The collaboration between the American Cancer Society and Quit For Life allows Alere Wellbeing to offer best-in-class support services to tobacco users who want to quit, thereby empowering participants with the tools they need to take a more active role in achieving lasting health.
