08/24/2011   Reminder: Pre-authorizations for select procedures for Asuris TruAdvantageTM start Sept. 1, 2011

This is a reminder that, beginning Sept. 1, 2011, we're implementing pre-authorization requirements for select medical services for Asuris TruAdvantage members. Pre-authorization services are performed to determine if services meet medical necessity criteria, assuring safety, effectiveness and appropriateness of treatment for our members, while better managing cost.

Our July 27 article outlined the services for which Asuris TruAdvantage members will need pre-authorization if the service date is scheduled for Sept. 1, 2011, or later. In the past month, we've been reviewing the specified treatments and coordinating with providers.
