Notification of upcoming changes for Individual members
We appreciate your role helping our members stay informed about Asuris plan and contract changes. We want to notify you that starting June 22, we'll begin mailing letters to current members informing them of important changes.
In order to comply with requirements of Washington State's Mental Health Parity Act (EHB 1460), all references to visit and day limitations within mental disorders benefits will be removed effective July 1, 2010. Included in that mailing is a special rider that details the contract changes, along with a notice and a disclosure that we're required by federal law to provide to our members each year.
The mailing also notifies members that we're extending dependent care coverage to currently enrolled dependents effective June 1, 2010. We're implementing this reform provision early to help prevent a gap in coverage that could leave many young people uninsured prior to full implementation of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
We understand that your clients may be asking questions about rate adjustments and other health care reform changes. At this point, those changes have not been determined. We'll provide a 30 day notification prior to any rate adjustment taking effect.
