09/18/2009   Product changes for groups of 2-99

To provide greater value and better service to our members, we will replace older small-group plans with our new health-focused plan options. This change will go into effect beginning with Jan. 1, 2010, effective dates and will impact all groups of 2-99.

Your clients will be able to choose from EmbarkSM, VantageSM, MotivateSM or Asuris HSA Healthplan 2.0SM for renewals and new sales. Current plans will no longer be available for scheduled renewals beginning with Jan. 1, 2010, effective dates.

The renewal proposal for your 2-99 clients will include notification about the transition process along with a plan recommendation that most closely matches the client's current plan. It will also display other plan options that you may want to consider for your client.

All of our new plans come with pharmacy coverage that provides integrated pharmacy benefit management through the award-winning RegenceRx® program.

And, don't forget that our new plans provide a wide range of wellness programs at no additional cost. These programs are not insurance, but they are being offered to help members and their families take charge of their health:

  • Asuris Health CoachSM personal support for reaching health goals
  • CareEnhance® 24-hour nurse line
  • Special Beginnings® maternity support program
  • The award-winning myAsuris.com, an innovative Web-based benefit information and health community where members can search for providers, check their claims status and research a vast array of health topics
In addition to our medical plans, we offer a full line of products including dental, vision, EAP and life benefits, which allows you to offer a comprehensive benefit package to your clients.

Product enhancements
Vantage and Embark will feature some product enhancements starting Jan. 1, 2010, that may be attractive to your clients:

Vantage:
  • A $250 deductible offering
  • A $7,500 deductible offering
  • A preventive care rider offering (benefits covered at 80% regardless of regular medical coinsurance amount, prior to deductible and with no annual benefit limit)
  • A flat Rx copay structure of $10/$35/$75 with no out-of-pocket maximum
Embark:
  • A $7,500 deductible offering
  • A flat Rx copay structure of $10/$35/$75 with no out-of-pocket maximum; existing Rx deductible choices will be available with this offering
Notification to members and group administrators
By law, we are required to send member letters regarding this transition process at least 90 days prior to renewal. In addition, notification to the group administrator will go out 100 days prior to renewal.
