02/25/2009   Micro and small groups to receive GMA reminder letters

Starting in 2009 we are sending reminder letters to groups of 2 to 50 that have not sent in their completed GMA by the 15th of the month prior to their renewal date. Renewals (groups of 2 to 50) are available only through Agent Center and are published 60 days in advance of the effective date.

We will send a cancellation letter only if we do not receive the group's completed GMA by their renewal date.

Community renewals are available 60 days prior to the renewal date through Agent Center only. In addition, we have a legal obligation to present renewals to a group 30 days prior to the effective date. Therefore, we are implementing a new process to ensure we're in compliance with this requirement. Going forward, we will follow these processes:

  • If a renewal has not been retrieved from Agent Center 45 days prior to the renewal date, we will send the renewal to the group on behalf of the agent.
  • Groups of 2–99 may renew as–is only on their existing plan (dropping dental is the only change that will be allowed with an "as–is" renewal). If a group wants to make benefit changes, they will need to move to EmbarkSM, VantageSM, MotivateSM or our the Asuris HSA Healthplan 2.0SM.
