Catastrophic plan minimum deductible and out-of-pocket costs revised effective Jan. 1
Effective Jan. 1, 2010, the Office of the Insurance Commissioner is required by RCW 48.43.005(5) to provide the calculation of the minimum deductible and out-of-pocket expense for catastrophic health plans.
For a catastrophic health plan contract, agreement, or policy covering a single enrollee, the deductible in 2010 must be at least $1,820. The out-of-pocket expense in 2010 must be at least $3,640.
For a catastrophic health plan contract, agreement, or policy covering more than one enrollee, the deductible in 2010 must be at least $3,640 (two times the deductible of a single enrollee). The out-of-pocket expense in 2010 must be at least $6,240.
