Achieve Discontinuation
Asuris would like to inform you of a change to our new dental offerings that may affect some of your quotes and renewals. The Washington Office of the Insurance Commissioner (OIC) has determined that as Asuris is licensed as a Health Care Services Contractor (HCSC) we are unable to sell dental products without a network. The OIC has directed us to stop marketing and selling the Achieve dental plans effective January 7, 2009.
The OIC will allow Asuris to transition any active groups upon their renewal cycle to a product with a contracted network – Enhance or Aspire.
No new quotes will be issued for Achieve dental plans as of January 7, 2009. If you have already received a quote for Achieve prior to January 7, 2009, we are permitted to honor that quote so long as the effective date is prior to April 1, 2009. However, we encourage existing quotes to be changed to Enhance or Aspire as these products are connected with the Asuris dental network.
For all groups with an April 1, 2009 effective date or later, Asuris will automatically offer an Achieve dental plan which most closely matches the group’s existing Asuris dental plan. Of course, as with any renewal, the group will be free to choose any open dental plan.
