Dental rates to factor in gender
Effective Jan. 1, 2009, for groups that are in our Community Pool with an effective date of January 1, 2009 or after, the dental rates will include a factor applicable to the gender. Actuarial statistics show that females use dental benefits more frequently than males, which of course equals higher claim costs. Currently, Asuris assigns the same actuarial rate factor to all community dental members, regardless of whether a member is male or female. To more accurately assess risk, Asuris community dental groups will begin to use gender as a dental rate factor. If you have questions, please talk to your Asuris Sales contact.
