The 2008 Asuris Latino Hero Award goes to...
We believe that building relationships in the Latino community is essential.
In that spirit, Asuris recently awarded Nancy Nash Mendez with the 2008 Asuris Latino Hero Award.
Nancy received $2,000, which she donated to the Mid-Valley Hospital's community outreach project. Asuris also awarded two $1,000 scholarships to the North Central Washington Chamber of Commerce. At the event, the Nancy gave a heartwarming thanks to the people who helped and inspired her as well as a personal call to action to the audience members to support bilingual and cultural education. Nancy said that although she is honored to receive the award, it also comes "with the responsibility and as a reminder that our task is not yet done. It is a reminder that we are agents of change in our small way."
Nancy was also featured in an ad campaign that celebrated Asuris' accomplishments and branded it as a company that works toward the well-being of Latinos in our communities.
