Virtual dollars pay for real medical expenses
The Asuris MotivateSM health plan includes a revolutionary feature called a Member Choice Account. This account is like an online bank account where Member Choice Funds are deposited as a reward for healthy living. Employers looking for a new way to inspire their employees to take an active role in their health will appreciate that Asuris funds and manages the Motivate rewards program.
How does it work? Members start by completing a General Health Assessment on myAsuris.com. If the assessment is completed in the first quarter of the year, $200 virtual dollars are immediately deposited into their Member Choice Fund. They can earn up to $400 more by participating in a variety of healthy activities that have assigned point values.
Examples include going for a walk, taking vitamins as recommended, reading a news article on myAsuris.com, participating in Weight Watchers or getting an annual flu shot. Each of these activities is worth 500 points. Completing an annual men's, women's or children's exam is worth 5,000 points. With more than 200 online and offline activities to choose from, there's something for everyone. Points convert to virtual dollars—up to $600 in Member Choice Funds each year. And members can use those funds to pay for qualified, out-of-pocket medical expenses, such as deductibles and coinsurance. That's inspiration for healthy living!
