10/23/2006 Medicare deductibles and coinsurance levels to change Jan. 1
Asuris Northwest Health will inform its Medicare Supplement members in a letter this November that the federal government will adjust deductible and coinsurance levels effective Jan. 1, 2007. The new levels were announced on Sept. 12, 2006. The government revises these figures each year based on formulas established by law. Our Medicare Supplement plans will be administered to abide by these changes.
- The Part A deductible amount for the first 60 days of inpatient hospital services will increase from $952 to $992.
- The daily coinsurance amount for the 61st-90th days of hospitalization in a benefit period will increase from $238 to $248.
- The daily coinsurance amount when using the 60 lifetime reserve days for hospitalization will increase from $476 to $496.
- The daily coinsurance amount for the 21st-100th days of skilled nursing facility care in a benefit period will increase from $119 to $124.
- The Part B deductible amount will increase from $124 to $131.
