09/13/2006 New generics made available

Three new generic medications were just recently made available: sertraline hcl (Zoloft™), an antidepressant drug; meloxicam (Mobic™), an anti-inflammatory drug; and simvasatin (Zocor™), a cholesterol-reducing drug.

We will not mail letters to members who are currently taking these brand-name medications. Instead, we will allow pharmacists to discuss generic options with their patients.
