With the cost of transportation going up and up, employees would probably love some help from their employers. That’s why Asuris offers several programs that can help take the bite out of the high cost of commuting:

• Commute Reimbursement Expense Accounts (CREA)
• Mass transit/vanpool subsidies

A CREA allows employees to use pretax dollars to pay for parking, mass transit passes (bus, rail or ferry) or qualified vanpool passes. Also, employers can offer a subsidy that makes it easier for employees to pay for mass transit or vanpool expenses. Employees can choose just the pretax feature for parking or enroll in both the pretax arrangement and the subsidy (the employer sets the amount).
